Did you Know?

Doug Otto, the son of two high school educators, was born in 1951. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1973 with a BA in Business-Economics. That same year, he co-founded Deckers Outdoor Corporation (NASDAQ: DECK), a footwear company that owns the UGG® Australia, Teva®, Simple® Shoes, TSUBO®, and Ahnu® brands. He served as a director from the Company’s inception and as Chairman of the Board from 1982 until he retired in 2008. Mr. Otto has also served as an executive officer from the Company’s inception to April 2005, including as Chief Executive Officer from 1982 to April 2005, as President from January 2003 to April 2005, from March 1999 to February 2000 and from 1982 to May 1998, and as Chief Financial Officer from June 1990 to December 1992.

Mr. Otto is currently a WPO (World Presidents Organization) member and was a member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization) from 1992 to 2002. He has served as Chairman of the Board and President of The Whale Beach Foundation, a private non-profit foundation, since its inception in 1994. Mr. Otto served as a trustee from 1994 to 2000 and as President from 1998 to 2000 of the Crane Country Day School, a K-8 private day school. He is currently serving as a trustee for Stevenson School and for Dunn School.

Mr. Otto lives with his wife, Rita, and his son James (age 9). He also has two children, Tiffany (age 19), and Ty (age 16), who are boarding at college and high school respectively. His passions are surfing and educating the next generation, and he enjoys all watersports, snowboarding, and traveling.
